LUUKHANYO, the name synonymous with smooth melodies, infectious grooves, and introspective lyricism, isn’t just a rising star in the South African music scene — he’s a captivating force who recently lit up the Big Little Concepts (BLC) stage with his band, The Hii ROLLERS. Their stripped-down performance, now available in all its glory on the BLC YouTube channel, is a testament to LUUKHANYO‘s unique sound, seamlessly blending contemporary RnB, hip-hop, funk, and jazz. This Cape Town-based artist’s music resonates with a soulful authenticity, capturing the essence of everyday experiences while infusing them with playful energy and thoughtful messages.
South Africa’s music scene is known for its diversity and richness, producing a plethora of musical talents who leave their mark on the world. One such rising star is The Arkeytect, a Johannesburg-born Capetonian, whose musical journey started in the heart of the church choir. Self-taught and inspired by his brother, he embarked on a journey that led him to master drums and keys, setting the stage for his extraordinary talent.
Cape Town-based singer-songwriter, Thandekile Maboee-Banzi Umthimkhulu Ndlebezintle Zombini Unasele, also known by his stage name Kila G, emerged on the local music scene in 2019 with his debut EP, Stone Age. His musical talent and the soulfulness of his voice have been apparent since his first release, titled ‘Green Conversations’ which he still holds to be some of his best work to date.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing Cape Town’s local band Face Jackson perform live, you’ll know that their brilliant instrumentals, great vocals, and overall groovy vibe make this band an unforgettable experience.
