As the Folklore Festival returns for its third year, this dynamic celebration of culture and heritage promises to be more immersive and intimate than ever before. Set across three cities over 30 days, this year’s festival is not just about revisiting the past; it’s about shaping the future through the art of storytelling, as South Africa commemorates 30 years of freedom.
The Folklore Festival is more than just an event; it’s a gathering of a community passionate about preserving and sharing the rich tapestry of stories, traditions, and creative expressions that make up our cultural heritage. Founded and curated by the multi-talented storyteller and singer-songwriter, Pilani Bubu, this festival is a unique space where diverse voices come together to celebrate and explore our shared values and history.
This year’s theme, #WETHEFOLK, encapsulates the festival’s mission to foster deep, resonant conversations among South Africans.
